Anritsu Company introduces enhancements, including support of high-speed Fibre Channel systems and more expanded Ethernet diagnostic capabilities, to its Network Master™ Pro MT1000A all-in-one network field tester. The addition of the capability to test Fibre Channel links up to 10 Gbps allows operators with Fibre Channel systems in Storage Area Networks (SAN), as well as transport technologies such as Optical Transport Network (OTN), Ethernet, and SDH/SONET, to use the single-instrument MT1000A rather than multiple instruments for their field testing needs, reducing cost-of-test and improving operating efficiencies.
Portable, compact and user-friendly, the MT1000A supports emerging protocols and various legacy technologies, allowing field technicians to test any element of the transport network with a single solution for the first time. The deployment of an all-in-one tester such as the MT1000A helps reduce an operator’s capital expenditure, simplifies asset management, and eliminates training technicians on multiple instruments.
Network Master Pro MT1000A users now have expanded diagnostic capabilities for more detailed analysis capabilities. Field technicians can use a new IP Channel Statistics feature to easily identify error streams, top talkers, and network attacks, as well as to troubleshoot Ethernet and IP network issues more extensively. For advanced Ethernet troubleshooting, the MT1000A now captures live traffic frames that can be analyzed using the Wireshark® protocol analysis software. Details can be displayed on the MT1000A's large nine-inch touchscreen or PC.
The enhanced MT1000A now also features a 10G WAN PHY capability. Technicians can use the feature to send 10 Gbps Ethernet traffic through an operator’s SDH or SONET network.
Comprehensive All-in-one Tester
The Network Master Pro MT1000A is the first compact all-in-one OTN tester to give the user the capability to test the network with Ethernet, Fibre Channel and SDH/SONET client signals, at rates up to 10 Gbps. It also handles legacy PDH and DSn interfaces. The small form factor makes the instrument easy to transport, even in confined spaces. Battery-operated, the Network Master Pro MT1000A can operate for up to three hours before needing to be recharged. Offering WLAN, Bluetooth and LAN connectivity options, the MT1000A can be operated remotely.
