Anritsu High-speed Measurement Solutions to be Used to Conduct FDR and EDR Testing at IBTA Plugfest

10/7/2013
Physical Layer Tests to Ensure Product Compliance with Latest IBTA Specification to be Made with MP1800A BERT, BERTWave MP2100A and MP1825B 4Tap Emphasis

Anritsu Company announces that its MP1800A BERT Signal Quality Analyzer (SQA), BERTWave MP2100A and MP1825B 4Tap Emphasis will be used during the 24th InfiniBand Compliance and Interoperability Plugfest hosted by the InfiniBand® Trade Association (IBTA) at the University of New Hampshire Interoperability Lab (UNH-IOL), in Durham, NH, beginning October 7. The Anritsu test solutions will conduct ATD and PHY tests during the compliance portion of the Plugfest, which creates a technically sophisticated environment to determine if products meet the InfiniBand architecture specifications, as well as to ensure compatibility between InfiniBand products.

The MP1800A, which has a wide 100 Mbit/s to 56 Gbit/s bandwidth, BERTWave MP2100A, an all-in-one BERT and EYE/Pulse Scope solution, and MP1825B will be used for 14.1 Gbps Data Rate (FDR) and 25.8 Gbps Enhanced Data Rate (EDR) Active cable Time Domain (ATD) testing to ensure products meet the transfer speeds. During the test, the MP1800A will produce jittered eyes based upon an independent setting of SJ and RJ, as well as emphasis from the MP1825B to compensate for Data Dependent Pulse Width Shrinkage (DDPWS).

The ability of the Anritsu test solutions to conduct pre-emphasis and produce a mask-compliant eye is vital to the test. This capability is achieved because the MP1825B supports easy changes to the pre-emphasis waveform amplitude, offset, and amplitude of each tap, for effective evaluation of the characteristics of high-speed interfaces, including InfiniBand.

“As a global leader in test solutions, Anritsu has a commitment to support trade associations that help advance technology. To that end, we are proud to provide the IBTA with the MP1800A, BERTWave MP2100A and MP1825B, which are examples of the leading-edge test instrumentation developed by Anritsu that effectively measure the performance of next-generation products,” said Hiroshi Goto, Business Development Manager, Anritsu Company.
