Anritsu Company to Display Test Solutions for Development, Manufacturing, and Field at CTIA 2012

T&M Instruments That Address Complex Analysis Needs Associated with Next Generation Networks to be Featured by Anritsu

Anritsu Company (CTIA booth #3551), a world leader in wireless test equipment, will be displaying solutions that meet the complex analysis needs associated with Next Generation Networks (NGNs), at CTIA Wireless 2012. A full suite of test instruments that can be used during development and manufacturing of chipsets and UEs, as well as field solutions for network deployment, installation, and maintenance will be showcased in Anritsu’s booth, which will include demonstrations on testing LTE Advanced, VoLTE, and Passive Intermodulation (PIM).

LTE Advanced
At CTIA, Anritsu is solidifying its position as a leader in protocol-based testing of LTE devices with the announcement of LTE Advanced measurement capability in its MD8430A signaling tester. With the new tests, the MD8430A is the first LTE simulator with full-stack LTE Advanced call capability, including Cat. 6 downlinks, which operate at 300 MB/s. Anritsu will demonstrate these measurements using its MD8430A and MD1230B data quality analyzer, as well as the SORBAS 200 3GPP-LTE Test-UE solution from Signalion.

Anritsu is also addressing the growing demand for VoLTE test solutions with the introduction of hardware and software for its MD8430A that allows the signaling tester to create high-fidelity emulation of the protocols and nodes in an IMS core network, coupled with simulated LTE base stations and UEs. The MD8430A emulates the required functionality in an LTE base station, including Semi-Persistent Scheduling (SPS), TTI bundling, DRS, and RoHC. Demonstrations of the VoLTE/IMS solution, consisting of the MD8430A with Radvision Prolab software, will be conducted throughout the show.

PIM; Field Testing
The rollout of 4G technologies and the ever-crowding RF spectrum has made PIM a growing concern for wireless network operators. Anritsu’s MW8219A PIM Master, featuring Anritsu’s patented Distance-to-PIM (DTP) , will be on display. When integrated with an Anritsu Site Master, Cell Master , BTS Master , or Spectrum Master, handheld analyzer, PIM Master is the only solution that can determine all static PIM sources in both an antenna system and beyond the antenna. Anritsu will also be showing its Network Master MT9090, a handheld tool that combines performance, compact design, and ease-of-use for testing optical fiber used in backhaul applications.

Multi-format Test
For advanced multi-format, functional, application, and parametric testing, Anritsu is showing its MD8475A signaling tester, which supports 2G/3G/4G formats. Its unique SmartStudio user interface has a new fading capability, and allows the MD8475A to simulate two base stations for simultaneous application tests that had not been previously possible with a single instrument. Multi-format testing is also supported by the MT8820C Radio Communication Analyzer. With its unique ParallelPhone (PPM) simulation and measurement capabilities, the MT8820C can conduct call processing, parametric testing, functional testing, and no-call calibration and testing on two devices simultaneously.
