Anritsu SDH/SONET Analyzer Used to Help Ensure Performance of Worldfs First Native 40 Gbps Capacity over Subsea Span

MP1595A Used by Huawei Technologies USA as Part of Optical Network Capacity Expansion Between Boston and Halifax

Anritsu Company announces that its MP1595A 40G SDH/SONET analyzer was used by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. (Huawei) as part of the deployment of the world's first native 40 Gbps capacity over a subsea span between Boston and Halifax, Nova Scotia on the Hibernia Atlantic cable system. The MP1595A was used by Huawei to verify the performance of its 40G transponders, which were designed into over 400-mile cable to increase network capacity from 480 Gigabytes to 1.9 Terabytes.

The MP1595A analyzer provided the flexibility of service and mappings necessary to validate the subsea span. It is an all-in-one measurement solution that provides full 40G/43G support for all network quality measurements. It was used by Huawei to verify the performance of its 40G transponders.

Huawei's 40G transponders were used to upgrade the existing cable, built in 2000 with a 48-channel 10G system capacity. The cable was built in 2000 with a 48-channel 10G system capacity. Huawei's 40G transponder features industry-leading automatic dispersion compensation, which eliminates the need for DCM modules. Its 40G cards use the same common equipment and also work well with the live 10G traffic, enabling their customers to increase capacity in a cost-effective manner on legacy equipment.
