World’s First LTE-Advanced Mobile Call Processing Test with All-in-One Wireless Tester

Luton, UK – 19th March 2013 In line with the wide scale deployment of LTE-Advanced mobile networks, Anritsu Corporation announce the commercial release of their new LTE-Advanced Measurement Software for the MT8820C Radio Communication Analyzer. The MX882012C-021 software suite offers mobile device developers and manufacturers the world’s first all-in-one tester solution for LTE-Advanced call-processing tests, including receiver and RF throughput test solutions.


The increased use of smartphones and tablets to support cloud services and high-definition video is driving a rapid increase in mobile data traffic, causing mobile networks problems with how to support faster and larger-capacity data transfers. The release of the MX882012C-021 LTE-Advanced FDD Downlink Carrier Aggregation Measurement Software, in association with the MT8820C Radio Communication Analyzer, provides developers and manufacturers an all-in-one tester to enable verification of device quality and RF performance specifications, whilst the LTE-Advanced call-processing tests assure data connection quality of devices as manufacturers ramp up production.


The MT8820C integrates the vector signal generator, vector signal analysis and network signaling functions required for R&D and manufacturing of mobile appliances in a compact all-in-one platform. Using the dual MT8820C based solution it is now possible to evaluate Carrier Aggregation radio performance and throughput rates including 2 Component Carriers with 2x2 MIMO, providing a 300 Mbps throughput measurement capability.


LTE-Advanced has been developed as a multimode system supporting existing mobile network standards including LTE, W-CDMA, CDM2000, GSM, TD-SCDMA, etc. The all-in-one MT8820C supports all these mobile standards with call-processing tests of multimode LTE-Advanced smartphones, tablets and modems. All of these standards can be installed into the MT8820C, without limitation on combinations or number of standards installed. The MX882012C-021 software is available to buy immediately as an additional bolt on to the standard MT8820C.
