Anritsu prepares for the 2011 Pan American Games

Anritsu A/S announced today that they are working with the two largest providers of mobile communications services in Mexico to ensure high quality, reliable voice and data for spectators, organisers, VIPs and competitors in the run-up to, and throughout the event.

The Pan American Games are the second largest multi-sport event after the Olympic Games, and like the Olympics, it is an event that takes place every four years. This year the Pan American Games takes place in Guadalajara, Mexico from the 14th to 30th October. With over one million tickets for sale, and over 6,000 competitors, this is an event that will stretch the local communications infrastructure far beyond any previous limits.

Anritsu is working with the two largest providers of mobile phone services to ensure that their networks are in the best possible condition to support the games. Even before the games start, Anritsu’s consultants are cooperating closely with the network operators’ experts to agree the reports, dashboards and alarms that are necessary to evaluate the current network performance and for the early detection of service affecting problems as traffic starts to increase.

Once the games begin, Anritsu’s MasterClaw® system will capture details of every event in the network, allowing deep analysis of any failures. Simultaneously, by building up a picture from millions of individual events, the overall story of network usage and performance can be understood.

The combination of Anritsu products and services reveal the hidden stories of what is happening in the network in real-time. This supports decision making and action by the operators to deliver the highest quality of service and quality of experience.
