TD-SCDMA

Time Division Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access (TD-SCDMA) is an air interface found in UMTS mobile telecommunications networks in China. It is a Time Division Duplex (TDD) 3G technology as opposed to Frequency Division Duplex (FDD) like W-CDMA. TD-SCDMA is primarily used for voice and it utilizes a TDD version of HSPA for data. China Mobile is the operator in China utilizing this technology making it the largest 3G network operator in the world.

MD8470A
400 MHz - 2.7 GHz

The MD8470A Signaling Tester offers the optimum solution for mobile UE protocol stack with a focus on application development. It supports the processes required for testing various applications including voice calling, browser/contents download, video calling, and end-to-end UE communications (with a single MD8470A). Also, the PPP server functionality is included.

The Wireless Network Simulator software incorporated in the MX847010A W-CDMA/GSM Simulation Kit simulates interactive base station operation and allows basic connection tests to be performed without creating scenarios, reducing the costs of creating and managing scenarios. With its enhanced W-CDMA/GSM functions, the WNS software and Simulation Kit provide solutions that support the ever-increasing number of wireless device applications. More complex testing is also supported by C-based scenario scripting, allowing execution of custom sequences and viewing/analysis of protocol logs.

In addition to W-CDMA / GSM testing using WNS and C-scenarios, the MD8470A also offers test capability for both TD-SCDMA and 1xRTT/1xEV-DO at the application layer and lower in the protocol stack. TD-SCDMA testing is supported trough C-based scenario scripting, while 1xRTT/1xEV-DO testing is supported with WNS, native PERL, Scenario Composer, or other APIs.

MS2830A Microwave
Spectrum Analyzer/Signal Analyzer

Outline
The MS2830A-044/045 Signal Analyzer includes a spectrum analyzer function for measuring up to 110 GHz using an external mixer based on the 26.5 GHz/43 GHz upper frequency limit. It supports measurements of Tx characteristics, including adjacent channel leakage power, spectrum mask, and frequency counter, as well as spurious measurements requiring a wide dynamic range.

Installing the 10 MHz/31.25 MHz bandwidth analysis option adds signal analyzer functions for checking phenomena that are hard to check using a spectrum analyzer, such as frequency vs. time, phase vs. time, spectrogram, and CCDF. In addition, optional measurement software supports modulation analysis. Moreover, installing a preselector bypass option enables use of the signal analyzer and modulation analysis functions up to 26.5 GHz/43 GHz (MS2830A-044/045). Finally, it can be customized to support a range of application-specific measurements.

MS2830A
Signal Analyzer

OUTLINE
The MS2830A is a spectrum analyzer, signal analyzer and signal generator with top-class measurement speed at medium-class price. It has best-of-class dynamic range (average noise level [DANL]: –153 dBm, third-order intermodulation distortion [TOI]: +15 dBm) and excellent ±0.3 dB (typ.) total level accuracy using unique level calibration technology.

The MS2830A supports an optional vector signal generator (VSG) and can be used as a reference signal source for tests of parts' Tx characteristics or as a signal source for tests of Rx characteristics. Installing the VSG option cuts investment costs and footprint size. The IQproducer PC software generates waveform patterns for the VSG, supporting various communication methods, including LTE FDD, LTE TDD (TD-LTE), Mobile WiMAX, etc.

10 MHz and 31.25 MHz Modulation Analysis Bandwidth options can also be installed along with various measurement software tools supporting PC-free modulation analysis of various communication systems. For example, installing the LTE Downlink/Uplink Measurement Software and LTE IQproducer LTE supports Tx characteristics/modulation analysis for LTE FDD BTS and Rx characteristics tests. Installing the LTE TDD Downlink Measurement Software and LTE TDD IQproducer supports Tx characteristics/modulation analysis for LTE TDD (TD-LTE) and Rx characteristics tests. The measurement software options support key wireless communication systems, such as Mobile WiMAX, W-CDMA/HSPA/HSPA Evolution, GSM/EDGE, TD-SCDMA, CDMA2000/1xEV-DO, as well as 3GPP LTE FDD and 3GPP LTE TDD (TD-LTE). Additionally, there are general-purpose analysis software tools for modulation analysis of multiplex TDMA systems using BPSK, QPSK, π/4 DPQPSK, 8PSK, 16QAM, 64QAM, 256QAM, 2FSK, and 4FSK modulation methods. Combining these hardware and software options in custom configurations supports the perfect measurement solution for every need.
