The MS2830A is a spectrum analyzer, signal analyzer and signal generator with top-class measurement speed at medium-class price. It has best-of-class dynamic range (average noise level [DANL]: –153 dBm, third-order intermodulation distortion [TOI]: +15 dBm) and excellent ±0.3 dB (typ.) total level accuracy using unique level calibration technology.

The MS2830A supports an optional vector signal generator (VSG) and can be used as a reference signal source for tests of parts' Tx characteristics or as a signal source for tests of Rx characteristics. Installing the VSG option cuts investment costs and footprint size. The IQproducer PC software generates waveform patterns for the VSG, supporting various communication methods, including LTE FDD, LTE TDD (TD-LTE), Mobile WiMAX, etc.

10 MHz and 31.25 MHz Modulation Analysis Bandwidth options can also be installed along with various measurement software tools supporting PC-free modulation analysis of various communication systems. Purpose-Built for Technicians
Until now, the right tool just didn't exist for technicians to quickly and cost-effectively isolate network problems. Traditional, dedicated testers did the job but lacked the ability to be upgraded when new technologies were deployed. Likewise, more flexible platforms were too large, too expensive and too complicated.

The new, palm-size MT9090A modular platform from Anritsu finally addresses all of these needs. Users can interchange different modules to configure the MT9090A as an optical fault locator, general purpose OTDR, CWDM optical channel analyzer or 10/100/1000MB Ethernet tester. Operation is quite similar between modules so the user is immediately familiar with operation.

Until now, installing and maintaining optical networks required technicians to carry a variety of equipment which was not only cumbersome, but also expensive. Hearing this common complaint, Anritsu engineers have developed their new line of MT9083 ACCESS Master OTDRs. The MT9083C test sets are designed to make your measurement experience simple and error-free with true one-button fault location, pass/fail classification, automated file saving and naming and even a macrobend detection feature for identifying installation issues.  They feature multiple wavelengths and options to satisfy any network testing requirement: access or metro, FTTx or LAN...all without straining your budget.

For customers installing and maintaining metro area or core networks, the ACCESS Master offers an automated fiber construction application and multiple wavelengths including specialty applications such as 1383 nm for certifying legacy fibers for CWDM upgrades.

For FTTx networks, the MT9083 series provides both optical testing for optical splits up to a 1x128, plus quality of service (QoS) verification via the IP testing option. With the IP option, continuity, download speed, throughput and frame loss of Gigabit Ethernet links can be verified up to full line rate. It also features a unique way to troubleshoot live PON based, FTTx networks without additional costly and complicated external filters.

As part of Anritsu's CMA5000a Multilayer Test Platform, the OTDR application reduces the time to install, commission, and maintain fiber spans via high performance hardware and easy-to-use software. Featuring support for a multitude of single mode and multimode wavelengths, up to 50 dB of dynamic range, and deadzones as small as 1 meter, the OTDR application is the ideal solution for testing long-haul backbone networks, metropolitan optical networks (MONs), and FTTP deployments that incorporate passive optical networks (PONs).

The CMA5000a reduces the cost of measurement through ultra-fast data acquisition. Up to 80% of the dynamic range is achieved in under 30 seconds, saving valuable time and expense when compared to other solutions that require three minutes to complete their tests. In addition, real time updates of 1/10 second provide quick information for easier connector and splice optimization.

The CMA5000a OTDR Application provides unparalled ease of use for both the novice and the fiber expert through dedicated test modes that simplify and automate tests for any application from fiber reel validation measurements to long-haul, metro, or PON applications. The field portable CMA5000a OTDR/Chromatic Dispersion application is a dedicated module that combines the advanced capabilities of Anritsu’s OTDR technology with Anritsu’s experience in Chromatic Dispersion. The CMA5000a OTDR/CD measurement system is based upon the industry accepted time-of-flight measurement method (FOTP-168) and uses multiple wavelengths to increase the accuracy of the measurement. Only a single fiber is needed to test dispersion slope and zero-dispersion wavelength as well as traditional OTDR characteristics of loss, length and attenuation on all single mode fiber types. This provides carriers and service providers increased revenue through optimized network bandwidth, while improving efficiency and reducing operational expenses through proper CD mitigation and compensation techniques.

PMD Application

Before any network upgrades are performed, PMD should be tested to see what the physical limitations are. The CMA5000a PMD (Polarization Mode Dispersion) module is designed to assess the capability of each fiber in the network and verify which transmission rates any given fiber can support. The CMA5000a PMD module can also identify fibers that are capable of the highest transmission rates, allowing service providers to assign these to key customers or the most demanding communications.

When outfitted with the Gigabit Ethernet module, the very compact battery-powered, easy-to-use Anritsu Network Master is a comprehensive solution for Gigabit Ethernet testing and for installation and troubleshooting Ethernet communication lines.

The instrument gives the user facilities for easy bandwidth verification, connectivity testing and service availability verification. The compact size and light weight of the instrument makes it very easy to carry around for field technicians working with the Ethernet lines. Despite the small size, the instrument is equipped with a large display so the user can easily read and interpret information from the tested lines off the large color display with easy-to-understand colors and graphical symbols. The graphical user interface also makes it a simple task to configure and operate the instrument.
